Alison Krauss who has more Grammys than any other woman in history – twenty-seven from 42 nominations – says Beyoncé deserves to beat her record.
The bluegrass singer is recognised for her work with Union Station, as a solo artist, as a contributor to ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ and as Robert Plant’s foil on ‘Raising Sand’.
Earlier this year, Beyonce – who went into the Grammys with nine nominations on top of her 22 previous wins was on the go on breaking the record.
Despite her inability to do that, Krauss says she’d have been honoured to hand over the crown.
In her words:
“All I know is Beyonce is one of the most beautiful, talented, amazing people I’ve ever seen in my life.”
“If she gets my title, it is well-deserved. She’s much more deserving than I could ever be! She’s amazing.”
