Actress, Dana Elaine Owens, better known as Queen Latifah, has been pencilled down to get the royal treatment at the upcoming American Black Film Festival Honors.
The Oscar-nominee will receive the Entertainment Icon award at this year’s ceremony, which would be held in Los Angeles on Friday and hosted by Actress, Regina Hall.
Latifah said that she was honoured to receive the award.
“It means so much to me coming from fellow entertainers and my peers.”
It will be recalled that the globally loved actress began her career as a rapper almost thirty years ago.
Apart from her Oscar nomination for “Chicago,” she was also nominated twice in the Emmy Awards acting categories and has won a Golden Globe.
Terrence Howard will also be honoured at the ceremony, which will hold on February 22.
