To encourage the culture of continuous saving among Nigerian families, Access Bank Plc has created the Family Savings Scheme. The bank has also begun to reward participants of the scheme who have saved quite substantially since the inception of the scheme.
In the first monthly Family Fortune Promo draw, held at one of her branches on Wednesday, 16th August in Lekki Phase 1, over one hundred customers have qualified to win various prices in the draw.
The event had the coverage of a few media houses, regulatory bodies and media personalities. The Consumer protection council and National Lottery Commission had their representatives present as well as comedian, Emma oh-my-God, who co-anchored the event, thrilling participants with his great performance.
As the bank’s product focuses on the family, not only were parents and guardians present, but children were also in active attendance, with the bank’s provision of activities to engage them at the event, including face painting, pop-corn stands and more.
Some of the prizes won included DSTV decoders, shopping vouchers, Samsung mobile phones, home theatres, 42-inch LED TVs, and home furniture. Customers who got lucky this time, were called at the live event and they expressed happy and unbelievable faith in the bank.
The Group head, Inclusive Banking of Access bank Plc, Mrs. Ope Wemi-Jones stressed the need for families to save in the current recession state of the nation, saying, “Though there is a recession, it is no respecter of what we earn and as such, it is very imperative for every family to still save even at a time like this.”
She also added that the bank would also be giving more prizes to winners in subsequent draws and encouraged more people to take advantage of the opportunity.
One of the spectators at the event said she was skeptical about the kinds of prizes the bank promised to be won, but on seeing that the prizes were real, she said her family is going to be a participant of the scheme and would also encourage her friends and family to do same.
Apart from the monthly draws, there are other prices to be won in weekly draws that are still ongoing which means every family has a chance of winning if they take this chance.
