Dressing room drama: Schweinsteiger ordered to join reserves team

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has been reportedly told to join the Reserve team in a bid to force him out of old Trafford.

The 32-year old, who joined the Red Devils, not long after Germany won the World Cup in 2014, has struggled to find form since he made the switch from Bayern to United.

The reports further claims that Schweinsteiger has cleared out his locker in the first team and was told to join the Reserve team, according to a directive from Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

The Germany international, who is one of the few players that have been told to leave club, has two years left on his contract. United may decide to loan him out to clubs for this period of time or they may choose to let him move on to another club and then pay part of his wages, if his new club can’t afford his current deal.

Alex Song completes move to Rubin Kazan

Cameroon international Alex Song, has completed a deal to Russia based side Rubin Kazan after Barcelona pulled the plug on his deal a year early.

Song who has been on loan at West Ham for the past two seasons, failed to make an impact with the Hammers after being impeded by a recurring injury, which led him to make just 15 appearances for Slaven Billic’s side.

The midfielder joined Barcelona in 2012 and signed a five year deal, which was supposed to keep him at the club until 2017. However, Barcelona decided to cancel the deal, perhaps because of his failure to perform as he made just 29 starts for the Catalans since he joined the club.

Rubin have now taken on the Cameroonian but details of the deal has not been made public, though most likely it is a deal for one year, with an option to renew once the contract runs out.

Unlucky Wilshere injured again

Injury plagued Jack Wilshere has suffered another injury, Arsene Wenger has revealed.

The midfielder who has suffered over 10 injuries in his career, was absent from Arsenal’s preseason preparations and even missed the match against Guadalajara, where Arsenal sealed a 3-1 win.

Though Wenger says Wilshere’s injury is not severe, one cannot but feel sorry for the England international who has had a tough time with injuries.

“It’s a slight patella problem but I think he should be with us on tour on Thursday,” Wenger said. “I hope he will, yes.”

Meanwhile, Santi Cazorla is another Arsenal midfielder struggling with fitness as he recovers from an injury, though he managed to feature for a few minutes against Guadalajara.

“He’s a bit behind the others physically but I think he will be alright, maybe not on August 14th, but at the end of August he should be alright,” he said, referring to the Gunners’ first match of the Premier League season at home to Liverpool.

Arsenal’s coming fixtures, will have them face Vikings and then English rivals Manchester City before the season starts.
