A superintendent of police, and also the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the police command, Bauchi, Mr. Mahmoud Mohammed gave a statement on Friday and reported the arrest of 14 men suspected to be kidnappers.

In the statement, he said that, the alleged kidnappers have been perpetuating heinous crimes in different parts of the state.

He stated that, some security operatives with the Anti-kidnapping unit/SARS, in conjunction with civil security outfits known as Danga Security and a vigilante Group combed out the kidnappers in their hideouts around Jauru, Janga, Bahago, Felu and Geji forests in Toro LGA of Bauchi State.


He also stated that two persons were rescued by the police, five motorcycles, three fabricated guns, one single-barrel gun and some mobile phones were recovered during the raid on the kidnappers’ den.

The names of the suspects were listed as: Umar Gwamna, 19, Ibrahim Yahaya, 25, Hussaini Hamisu,20, Salisu Adamu, 20, Salmanu Hamisu, 23, Ibrahim M. Hussaini, 25, Abdullah Hamisu, 23, Yahaya Mai Saje, 21, Lukman Hamisu, 18, Nasiru Halilu, 20, Sani Abdullah, 35, Musa Audu, 22, Rabiu Adamu, 20, and Mohammed S. Abdullah, 40.
