West Africa is about to witness its very first International Art Fair, courtesy Art X Lagos as a 3 day art fair is coming to The Civic Center in Lagos from the 4th to the 6th of November. (Watch Video Below)

Art X Lagos is a new art fair established to connect Nigeria to the entire African art scene, and that’s why about 50 artists from across 10 countries will be showcasing art that will make you want to blow a stash of cash or pull a heist.

At a press conference today in Ikoyi (Wheat Baker Hotel) the organizers and sponsors of the coming event spoke to press members about the concept of art appreciation in Africa, and how the entire initiative is driven by the youth. (Photos below) The ideas and the works of art are coming from young and vibrant individuals.

Tokini Peterside who is the front lady of the movement gave a brief description of the musical and visual theme that a fusion of artists and musicians are going to bring at the show. There are also future plans to widen the scope of the fair to other Nigerian states so that young artists in universities can join the action. Today the 14th of October marks the end of an online competition held by Art X Lagos where artists, sculptors, painters and photographers have been given an opportunity to submit their designs and win the Art X Prize. We await the emergence of a winner.
