Short, sturdy, creative, and unyielding are arguably befitting adjectives to describe the French Midfielder, N’Golo Kante right now.
His performance at the English F.A. Cup, playing for Chelsea against Manchester United was out of this world.
He scored in the 51st-minute to beat stubborn United goalie, David de Gea, who had saved efforts from Gary Cahill and Hazard. This goal took Chelsea to the next round of the cup and they will play Arsenal at Wembley. A juicy fixture to look forward to.
So far, Kante has made 26 appearances, completed 1,367 passes, made 218 interceptions (2015/2016 and 2016/2017 season), and won 267 tackles (2015/2016 and 2016/2017 season). This is quite outstanding for a 25-year-old player.
In addition to all these, we cannot forget Kante’s contributions to Leicester City, winning a shock top-flight title and is on course to lift the trophy again for another season in a row with Chelsea.
Interestingly, Antonio Conte admitted that Kante is better than him. He said: “I think I was stronger than him to score goals but, in the other aspects, there is no contest. He is stronger than me. I like a lot of these type of players [like Kante]. I was this type of player. And I always appreciated this type of player, with great generosity, great ability to work with the team. I think it’s important to have this type of player if we want not only great talent but players who run a lot during a game. He’s an example. N’Golo is a fantastic guy, fantastic player, great commitment, great behavior. A great example.”
What else can we add?
