Ghanaian-American shoe brand, Tawia Designs is out with its Spring/Summer 2017 collection and it is inspired by the Fante Tribe of Ghana.
Fante subgroup is mainly gathered in the south-western coastal region of Ghana, with some also in Ivory Coast.
This collection of footwear comes in different colourful, designs, and made with supreme Moroccan leather, leopard fur, premium suede and more.
According to the Chicago-based brand, the collection embodies the art and symbolism of the Fante people and its handcraft was done in Kenya, Ghana, and Morocco.
“Tawia Designs creates a variety of footwear styles that represents the rich African culture, while creating and sustaining artisanal jobs within Africa. Taiwa’s shoes are developed through a combination of ethnic craftsmanship and aesthetic creativity designed for every occasion. Each shoe has a cultural background inspired by different tribes throughout Africa.
