For most of us, ordering a cocktail at the bar is a surreal affair. A few shakes, splashes and spritzes from the bartender et voila! That exotic tasting drink is in your hands. Only, your wallet is none too happy for it. Yet unbeknownst to us, it is not really rocket science, for some good cocktails can be made with the simplest of ingredients – even some of the really popular ones. Yeah…imagine all that money you would save mixing your drinks, not to mention how smart you’ll feel when they turn out just right 😉
Lemon Drop: low cost yet elegant, vodka, lemon juice and sugar combine to make a fantastic drink. The zing from a freshly-made lemon drop is a winner in the flavor department.
2 cups of chilled vodka
½ cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ of sugar
1 sliced lemon
Find a cup with covering or something you can shake the vodka, lemon juice, sugar and ice with together in. serve in your martini glass with lemon slices
Rum And Coke: Rum is one of the least expensive drinks you can buy and cola? You know how it goes. Yet mixing these drinks together makes for a really tasty and satisfying drink
2 cups of rum
4 cups of coca-cola
Pour the rum into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with cola and garnish with lime wedges
Gin And Tonic: a favorite of many drinkers, gin and tonic is cocktail made out of gin and tonic water poured over ice. It’s cheap, easy and absolutely delicious.
2 cups of gin
3 cups of tonic water
1 lime wedge
Pour ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Stir well and garnish with lime wedge. You can add a little juice for sweetener.
Mojito: sometimes, all it really takes is a few fresh herbs to make that wonderful drink. Mojitos is one drink that is not only great tasting but easy to make.
2 cups of white rum
½ cup of lime juice
1 table spoon of fine sugar
10 mint leaves
Tonic water and Ice
Fill glass with lime juice and sugar. Add mint leaves and mush together against the side of the glass. Add your rum and ice cubes and top off with tonic water. You can add watermelons for more tasting and coloring.
