Four suspects, Dauda Ahmed, Abdulmumeen Mustafa, Zubairu Abubakar and Abdullahi Abubakar earlier charged at a Kano Magistrate court with the murder of one Bridget Agbahime, a trader, has been discharged on the directives of the attorney-general of Kano State.
The deceased is said to be a 74 years old woman from Imo State.
The suspects were alleged to have murdered the deceased in Kofar Wambai market in Kano State over alleged blasphemy.
The principal State Counsel, Rabiu Yusuf informed the court of the attorney-general’s advice which stated that, the attorney-general had evaluated the facts in accordance with sections 130 and 150 of the Criminal Procedure Code and finds that there is no case to answer as the suspects are all innocent and therefore ordered the court to discharge all suspects.”
The Chief Magistrate, Muhammad Jibrin acted in accordance with the advice and discharged the suspects who did not fail to express their gratitude to God for having been vindicated of the offence.
