French President Emmanuel Macron will pay a courtesy visit to President Buhari today, July 3 and will tomorrow be at the official opening of the Alliance Francais building, Ikoyi, while in Lagos state. Alliance Française is a French language and cultural centre, which has 10 associations throughout Nigeria.
According to ThisDay, “The Alliance Francaise Foundation is the premier cultural organisation in the world, founded on 21 July 1883, it now has 800 local associations in about 133 countries.
“It is supported by grants from the French Government and the generosity of patrons, including its founding fathers who are notable Frenchmen like the scientist, Louis Pasteur, the publisher, Armand Colin and writers, Jules Verne and Ernest Renan. “
Emmanuel Macron will also be hosted at the African Shrine in Lagos state after seeing the President, and you know we’ve got the French president covered on songs he should listen to while in Naija.
Fela – Monday Morning In Lagos
‘Ojo Monday Eko oni gba gba ku gba-oh’ which translates loosely to Monday mornings, Lagos won’t take rubbish from you. And this a statement of fact in Lagos. Lagos is a different kind of stress come Monday mornings.
Wizkid – Ojuelegba
The unofficial Nigerian anthem and the 5th track off Wizkid’s Ayo album. Ojuelegba was inspired by his experiences and sojourn in and around metropolitan section of Lagos.
D Banj – Igwe
Well, Macron is going to be given a chieftancy title right, so we might as well call him Igwe
Johnny – Yemi Alade
Ninety one million views and counting, the most viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube, most popular Nigerian song in Francophone countries and also Yemi Alade’s break out hit.
Tuface – African Queen
Just because this song is awesome and we’d like to give Macron an African queen before he goes back.
