Who doesn’t love new shows!? There are already a ton of shows we follow and regularly neglect work for but hey, there’s always room for more.

There’s a ton of shows set to start in a few months, when summer’s over, and here’s our list of the ones we’re most excited about:

Big Little Lies

This TV show is based on the novel, with the same name, written by Liane Moriarty and it has some SERIOUS star power as both Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon are set to star in it. The show is about 3 mothers whose kids are friends, an unexpected event and, as with most shows nowadays, murder.

Air Date: The date is still a bit up in the air at the moment. It’s currently expected to drop around November/December but nothing is set in stone yet. We’ll keep you updated.

Shots Fired

Ok first off, let be known that we LOVE Sanaa Lathan. Talented, pretty, what’s not to love!?  Plus, from what I can remember, I’ve always liked her work- so you just know that it’s going to be good. The series portrays a Black cop involved in a racially-motivated shooting, resulting in the death of a white teenager. Lathan plays the investigator on the case, digging in to the details of what happened on the day of the shooting.

Air Date: No date has been announced yet but probably October/November.

With the success of Empire, expected to see more black shows and it looks like we were right! Atlanta is a black comedy centred round the lives of two cousins as they make their way into the Atlanta rap scene. It stars Donald Glover , Brian Tyree Henry and Jaden Smith.

Air Date: September 6, 2016.

The Crown

If you are a fan of downtown abbey, you will definitely love this one, though the only thing they have in common is their costumes. The historical drama follows the life of Queen Elizabeth the II. It stars top English acts Claire Foy and Matt Smith.

Air Date: November 4

Luke Cage

We have to say, the trailer for this show is so amazing! Thumbs up to this new Marvel Netflix partnership, we thoroughly enjoyed the first and second season of Daredevil and we’re almost 100%  sure you are going to love this show as well. The show is about a bartender with super strength and unbreakable skin, who attempts to rebuild his life, but somewhere along the way becomes tangled in a battle for the city.

Air Date: September 30th

Alright, there you go, 5 upcoming shows we think you should look out for. What do you think- anything we missed?

(Looking for something to watch in the mean time. Check out these binge worthy shows.)
