Grammy-winning singer cum actor, Mary J. Blige has finally gotten her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 47-year-old soul singer, who made her acting debut last year in “Mudbound” earned herself two 2018 Golden Globe nominations which include Best Original Song (Mighty River in Mudbound) and Best Supporting Actress (Mudbound).
While receiving the star at the unveiling, she said: “I am so grateful for this star right now because I’ve earned it probably three times, and I say that with confidence and not arrogance. I know my work and I understand what this means.”
She continued: “Dee Rees called me and gave me a job and put my life back in motion with ‘Mudbound’. Dee, I want to thank you for calling me. I don’t think you understand what you did… You really really helped save my life. ‘Mudbound’ opened up doors and gave me strength that I didn’t even know I had.”
Mary J. Blige is a nine-time Grammy winner with millions of records sold worldwide.
