I watched Coachella and Global Citizen Festival, two remarkable festivals. I can’t deny the feeling I had. A longing for a celebration just as big in my country; in my city. We have a massive pool of talents to make it work but it’s just  something that does not happen here, until now.

I received the news of Born In Africa Festival with great joy.

If you haven’t heard of Born In Africa Festival stop famzing us, you are not from here-where you dey since? Born In Africa will be featuring Art at its best- Art for and from Africa and by Art I mean it in every sense of the word; performing, visual and craft.  Some of Africa’s finest stars will be present at the festival. It is all over social media, go find out. Here are some things or people that have me really stoked for BA Fest this Sunday:

It Is The First Of Its Kind

If you know any other event that conveys or will convey some of Africa’s biggest talents in fashion, film, visual art and music (on a grand scale) please tell me, I want to attend. It is nice to have something like this come to us. Not all of us can afford to travel galaxies- South Africa requires a ticket.

 It is Christmas

It is festive season, after this long and tedious year I deserve to dance off all the weight and responsibility the year laid on me.

I am film fanatic and I would have gone if the festival was just about films. Every opportunity I get to watch a film is never missed and the festival will be screening a number of films as well as one currently screening in the cinema before the concert.

Oluchi Orlandi:

I have been seeing this international super model in covers for as long as I remember and she still appears ageless, black don’t crack. Can’t wait to beam at the visual bliss that is Oluchi..

Tiwa Savage and Dbanj:

These two are absolute joy. They are some of our biggest exports and I am most proud of them. I watched both artistes at the Global Citizen Festival and their talent and brilliance as artistes is indisputable. They rocked that stage and crowd and I want to see that at Eko Atlantic. Dbanj is a name that’s been ringing in our ears for like ever and the wonderful thing is Dbanj is still fresh, he has not waned. He consistently gives good music same as Tiwa Savage.

Awilo Logumba

To think of Awilo is to think of the joys of childhood, the happy-go-lucky air of childhood. I want to taste it again, I remember seeing Awilo with a chain of live snakes and just going ‘Wow Wow Wow.’ Little me wants to experience that thrill again.

I want to see Falz because he is Falz. Falz has been called the most woke artiste since Fela and I believe he really deserves the buzz.

Davido, Olamide and Burna Boy

What’s a party without these three? I have my dance steps ready for them.

I hope this won’t be a one off- You must be thinking, ‘Oga chill now. The event never happen sef.’ I know but my friend  Access bank no dey carry last. I mean look at some of their events such as; Lagos City Marathon, Afriff and Art X. Access bank does not do mediocre.
