Accelerate stays winning!

Two films from the 2018 edition of the Accelerate Filmmaker Project have been selected for screening at three international film festivals.

Thorn by Bola Akanbi was selected in both the Realtime International Film Festival and the Durban International Film Festival, while ‘Wrong Con’ by Charles Obi-Emere was selected in the New York African Film Festival (NYAFF).

Wrong Con

Thorn tells the story of a man who is affected by the traumatising experience of domestic violence in his family from childhood. His future is marred by those experiences, leading him to a tragic end.

Wrong Con is a comical tale of two scammers, who bite more than they can chew in one of their deceptive adventures.

Accelerate Filmmaker Project is an initiative of Accelerate TV, and sponsored by Access Bank, geared towards training and harnessing the film making skills of Nigerian Youths, while providing them an opportunity to make their own films under Accelerate’s supervision.

This year’s edition of the filmmaking project is set to kick off with 25 participants this month.
