Accelerate TV has been on a roll this year! From the advanced Filmmaking workshop with B.B Sasore, to the annual groundbreaking Accelerate Filmmaker project, to Premiering one of their major shows, ‘Brotherhood’ at Youtube week, and then to the ultimate Shade Corner Season 3 launch, Accelerate TV has shown us that their goal to entertain, educate and empower is something that they’re serious about. And they proved it once again last night by hosting the ultimate premiere of the year, of the movie ‘Farming’ by Adewale Akinnuoye at the Filmhouse cinemas Imax.
Yesterday was a blast! Let’s start with the employees of Accelerate TV, these people did not come to play last night, they showed up and showed out!!! They didn’t allow the fact that they had been tirelessly working to make sure that the premiere would be a success, to stop them from slaying hard! They all looked stunning last night. And of course, they followed after the leader of the gang, Colette Otusheso who always looks so effortlessly beautiful, and last night she took it to another level in an all-black ensemble.
Now let’s move on to the black carpet, a carpet filled with A list stars who were elegantly dressed for the event, being interviewed by our one and only Biodun Laaro. Some of the people who graced us with their presence are Osas Ighodaro, Shaffy Bello, Sharoon Ooja, Inidima Okojie, Kemi Adetiba, Ayoola Ayolola, Akah Nnani, Titi Oyinsan, Eku Edewor, Francis Sule, Steve Chuks, Blossom Chukwujekwu and so many more.
From the moment Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje walked unto the black carpet everyone turned to his direction, everyone wanted to say hi or take a picture, and every reporter wanted an interview, everyone wanted to meet the legend that was Adewale Akinnuoye, legendary actor and director.
You could see the anticipation on everyone’s face, they couldn’t wait to see the masterpiece that Adewale had written and directed, a film based on his true-life story. Just before the movie started, Colette Otusheso, Head of Accelerate TV welcomed everyone to the premiere and talked about the fact that she had read the script 15 years ago, can you believe that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje had been building the film for 15 years?! No wonder it was such a masterpiece! After her speech, Colette introduced Adewale who then encouraged everyone to sit back and enjoy the movie. Just before the movie played, an epic montage of Adewale’s movies was displayed on the screen and we couldn’t help but awe at how far the actor and director has come in the industry.
We’re not going to say much about the movie, because we don’t give spoilers, all you need to know is that you cannot afford not to watch it because it’s too amazing! Farming is a movie based on a true-life story and after watching it, you’ll look at everything differently. So when it comes out in the cinemas on the 25th of October 2019, make sure to go and watch it, then thank us later.
After the movie, there was a brief Q & A session which was moderated by Seyi Babatope. The Q & A was a brilliant idea because it gave the audience the opportunity to get to know Adewale better based on the movie they had just watched. After the movie, hors d’oeuvres were served which were mouth-wateringly delicious, while cocktails were being served at the signature lounge.
It was a night filled with fun and laughter and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Farming officially comes out in the cinemas on the 25th of October 2019, make sure to watch it and let us know your thoughts on the movie. We know you’ll love it!
