The Golden Eaglets began their quest for qualification from the West Africa zone on a losing note as they fell to a 3-2 defeat against Burkina Faso in their first Group B game in Niger yesterday.
Olusegun Olakunle scored both goals for Manu Garba’s charges who came back from two goals down to levelled scores at 2-2 in the first half but were punished for their lack of defending at the back.
Their next game will be against Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday with only a win being an option.
