Ahmad Ahmad from Madagascar has been elected the new President of the Confederation of African Football.

The election was held in Ethiopia.

Ahmad defeated long-serving Issa Hayatou by 34 to 20 votes.

Hayatou’s defeat is a surprise because he was expected to win. He became head of CAF in 1988 and has been president for 29 years.
