Over the weekend, Beyonce and husband Jay Z, had an African themed baby shower, tagged the ‘Carter Push Party’ at a private residence.
The family had plastic elephants and African fabrics on display as well as afrobeats sounds, including Fela’s music in the background.
In reaction to this, South African rapper, AKA, expressed his displeasure over the Beyonce’s African-themed push party in a tweet.
The rapper said:
“I only recognise one QUEEN B and she was born and raised in A F R I C A.”
He also accused the singer of cultural appropriation over the African themed baby shower.
The Carter Push Party, which was held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at a private property in Beverly Hills and was beautifully decorated with elaborate and colourful African-themed huge tent filled with loungers, floor pillows and soft rugs, had guests such as Kelly Rowland, Serena Williams, Lala Anthony and Michelle Williams in attendance.
