Alexander McQueen has released its AW’17 collection which was inspired by legendary master of wordplay, Oscar Wilde. The photos and videos reveal parts of the writer’s life. It showcases his tailoring choices while in London, his more fancier choices during his time in Paris; and a peacock motif inspired clothing inspired by the peacock painting above his bed in the the room at L’Hotel on the left bank, which was his last home.
The design house chose a peculiar way to showcase this Wilde-inspired collection through a look book and a film shot by photographer and Dazed contributor Ethan James Green. He perfectly captures the house’s beautiful male models in the park. With this, one will get a sense of the serenity and intrigue of literature as well as how much it can affect fashion. It is a beautiful and well rendered trip down a fashionable literary lane.
