A brace by Alexis Sanchez in the second half was all Arsenal needed to get past a stubborn Sunderland defence in a reschedules EPL game played yesterday.
Going into last night’s game, Arsenal were three points behind the top 4 place with Manchester City on 72 points and Liverpool on 73 points.
Already relegated Sunderland proved too difficult to crack in addition to missed chances from Giroud and Bellerin who were thwarted by the impressive Sunderland keeper, Jordon Pickford.
However, Arsenal will get the breakthrough in the 72nd minute when Sanchez poked home from close range after a smart move by Mesut Ozil and then completed his brace in the 81st minute to seal a 2-0 victory for the Gunners.
Sanchez brace has moved to within one goal of top scorer Romelu Lukaku of Everton.
