Angel Di Maria has been convicted of tax fraud and will pay a fine of £1.76 million to avoid prison sentence.
The Argentine winger defrauded the Spanish government of £1.14m during his time at Real Madrid and will subsequently pay a 60 per cent fine on top of what is already owed.
Di Maria admitted to two counts of fraud, which hold six-month sentences each, but will not face any jail time.
This now adds to the already rich casualty list comprising of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Samuel Eto’o and Jose Mourinho.
