Apple has announced that it has renamed its Beats 1 radio station to Apple Music 1. The radio station can be accessed through the Radio tab in the Music app across the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other devices, with no Apple Music subscription required. The announcement also came with the launch of two new radio stations: Apple Music Hits (featuring music from the ’80s through the ’00s) and Apple Music Country.
“Apple Music is home—it’s home to artists, it’s home to fans, and it’s home to incredible music,” Zane Lowe, host and creative director, said in a statement. “I’m an obsessive music nerd. I love searching for the most exciting new artists and playing them right alongside the most essential, established artists of our time, because great music does not know the difference and Apple Music fans just want to hear great music. That’s what Apple Music radio is all about.”
