The director of Army Public Relations Department, Sani Usman has disclosed in a statement released to journalists on thursday that, the officers of the Nigerian Army who were on patrol on the Monguno-Brimari road, Maiduguri, killed two suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
It was reported that, it was a shootout between the Army troops and the Boko Haram insurgents when the insurgents went on a trip to loot stocks and supplies from surrounding villages.
The insurgents who sighted the Army troops opened fire on them, and the army retaliated killing 2 of the insurgents.
Some items were listed to have been recovered form the suspected Boko Haram sect. Items which includes one FN rifle loaded with a magazine of 10 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one AK 47 rifle with 3 magazines, 2 motorcycles, drugs, wrappers and clothes.
