In case you weren’t paying attention last week, we here at Accelerate are running a competition with the amazing AskDamz. We could type out everything all over again… or you could watch this awesome video instead!
We’re aware that not everyone is on the AskDamz programme (although you really should be- I’m doing it now and it is AMAZING) so we’re giving helpful tips every week to help make this challenge a little easier.
Today’s tip is all about the basics- what goes in your mouth. Obviously if you’re on a quest to lose weight, you can’t keep eating exactly what you were eating before. While there’s no exact science to it, there are plenty of steps you can take to develop a healthier relationship with Nigerian foods, curb emotional triggers to overeating, and achieve lasting weight-loss success.
You need to start your health journey by starting with a healthy diet. That means a diet that’s rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes and low in refined grains, sugary foods, saturated and trans fats. You can include fish, poultry, and other lean meats, and dairy foods (low-fat or non-fat sources are preferable to save calories).
So this week make sure you throw all your chocolate and rubbish food away- start eating better. Then hop on the scales and show us how much it’s helped.
