Your Curriculum Vitae must immediately make an impression to have the maximum impact. The question now is what information you should include in your CV. You must know that certain things in your CV may be unnecessary. Check out things you should remove from your CV:
Sensitive personal information
Leave out any information someone could use to steal your identities, such as your driver’s license information or national ID number.
Objective statements are unnecessary and considered outdated by some human resource managers. It is advisable to replace your objective statement with a brief career summary that highlights your most relevant job experiences.
Don’t share details that could be used to discriminate against you. This includes your age, weight, race, political affiliation, or religion.
Don’t list the names or contact information of your references on your CV. Managers generally request this information during the later stages of the hiring process.
Grade Point Average
You may be tempted to show off your GPA by adding it to your CV. This is not really encouraging. Unless you just graduated from school within the last few months or have very little experience beyond your education, employers aren’t really concerned about your GPA.
This is totally uncalled for. Keep your passport photographs off your CV.
Don’t give the human resource manager a reason to deny you the job because of where you live. He/she may think that you will be unable to cope with the distance. As such, the only contact information you need is just your email address and phone number.
Past or Present Salary
You do not need to include your past and present salary in your C because salary discussions usually take place during the final stages of the hiring process. Some employers may ask about your current salary, but what they really want to know is if they can afford you. Instead of sharing your actual salary information, give employers a target range.
