Super Falcons goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi was the heroine for Nigeria last night as they qualified for the final of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) following a 4-2 penalty shootouts win over Cameroon in Accra.
Both the full 90 minutes and the 30 minutes extra time failed to produce any goals as the both defence proved too difficult to break down.
In the shootouts, the Falcons edged the Lionesses 4-2 having both scored their opening kicks.
Falcons keeper Oluehi pulled off a smart save from Gaelle Engenamouit’s kick before Oshoala made it 3-2 while the Indomitable Lionesses missed their fourth kick as it hit the bar.
Nigeria will now face the South Africa Bayana Bayana who had edged them 1-0 in their opening group game, in the final on Saturday.
