The Neymar and Barcelona love story has been going on since the 27 year old fist signed for the Catalonian side in 2013. This 4 year stint was a magical one. Forming the best front 3 in the world with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. The trio went on to win the Champions League in the 14/15 season where Neymar scored 10 goals in 12 UCL appearances

However, in the summer of 2017 Neymar set out on a mission to  “become his own man” and step out of the shadow of Lionel Messi as many believed he would never be regarded as the best in the world when he wasn’t even the best on his team. The liquid Parisians paid a hefty sum of £198 million for Neymar signature and he was off to Paris

Things haven’t exactly gone as planned, although Neymar has put up insane numbers since moving to Ligue 1 scoring 55 goals in only 63 appearances his PSG stint has come under criticism because of their failures in the Champions League. Last year PSG were eliminated in the round of 16 of the competition embarrassingly to an inferior Manchester united side. ALthough Neymar missed out due to injury, his seasons and time at PSG will only be judge based on Champions League success the French giant are desparate for.

Since last summer, rumours linking Neymar back to Barcelona have flooded the media and in its most recent installment, Spanish CB Pique spoke out again about Barcelona’s desire to get Neymar back on their books “If it was necessary to delay payments in our contracts to meet FFP regulations and sign Neymar – we would do it.

Barca spent the bulk of the last transfer window trying to lure Neymar back from PSG, two years after he left the Catalan club for a world record transfer fee of £200m.

But the two clubs failed to reach an agreement before September’s transfer deadline.

“We told (club president Josep Maria) Bartomeu that if it was necessary to delay payments in our contracts to meet Financial Fair Play regulations and sign Neymar we would do it,” said Pique speaking to a Spanish radio station Cadena Ser on Thursday.
