Monaco star Bernardo Silva has joined Manchester City on a five-year deal, the club has confirmed.
Silva had already completed a medical at Etihad Campus training ground earlier today.Monaco will receive £43 million up front for the Portugal playmaker in addition to other performance bonuses.
He began his career at Benfica, where he impressed for their B side in the Segunda Division, and in the summer of 2013 he went to the Under 19 European Championships where he was named in the top 10 talents by UEFA reporters after helping Portugal to the semi-finals of the competition.He was also part of the EURO 2016 title winning side.
The 22-year old who expressed excitement said, “It feels great. To be honest I’m now at one of the best teams in the world. To be part of this club and to have this opportunity is great.”

This signing follows the departures of Gael Clichy, Jesus Navas, Bacary Sagna and Willy Caballero who all left on a free.
