Besiktas has completed the signing of former Real Madrid defender Pepe on a two-year deal after spending 10 years at the Bernabeu.

The Portugal international made over 300 appearances for the Galacticos helping Madrid to a Liga and Champions League double in his final campaign.

Besiktas needed a leadership quality in their defence line and moved ahead of PSG to secure his signing as Pepe looked to be the one they were looking for.

The club president, Fikret Orman said: “We have added a very important player with a career and personality that we like.”

Pepe who joined on a free transfer after his contract expired last month, won three league titles, three Champions League crowns and two Club World Cup medals at Madrid.
