Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been sued for using the voice of Jamaican artist, Dr. L’Antoinette Stines, who claims she was never given proper credit or compensation for the usage of her vocals on ‘Black Effect’.
According to Dr. L’Antoinette Stines, she provided dancers back in 2018 for the promotion of the Carters upcoming tour. In the lawsuit, she claims Jay-Z and Beyonce wanted to record her views on love and was told it would be used for promotional use only.

The document alleges that she signed the contract, without a proper review by her lawyer, due to the Carters lawyers asking her not to bother cause it was just for promotional purposes.

Dr. Stines is suing the Carters for copyright infringement and violation of her right to publicity and damages. She also wants a writing credit for her contribution on ’Black Effect’
