Does Marvel have scientists slaving all day trying out secret recipes to making movie trailers? Every time we think they have nothing more for us, they get to drag us in with a new aspect.
Black Panther is an example of their Mastercraft at work. The whole thing about the trailer makes this probably the most anticipated movie of 2018.
This trailer is worse than a girl who invites you over to her place to just talk. Everything about it is a tease. Let me tell you why:
Firstly, the soundtrack. One word, Wow! (I’m not sure if that’s a word). If you don’t listen to Vince Staples, from the trailer, you will hear his hit single Bagbak from his Album Big Fish Theory. the way The beat and the lyrics of the song weave an awesome thread to create the visual magic that leaves you with Goosebumps. Most people don’t notice but after a while, as the song plays a mash up is then created with Gil Scott-Heron’s The Revolution Will Not Be Televised and yes both songs are talking about black empowerment from an action point of view.
The trailer shows Wakanda in a whole new light, through their illusion barriers and the afro-futuristic world. If Wakanda really exists, where can I get a visa? The writings carved around the trailer that can be traced back to the pre-colonial Nigerian Nsibidi tribe.
Introduction of characters shows more light on others; Ulysses Klaue (Claw), M’Baku (Man-Ape) and Erik Killmonger. We get to see his genius sister Shuri. Who is said to be way more of a genius than Tony Stark.
Let’s just say Marvel seems to be have an amazing 2018 planned for us!
