Bolton Wanderers have opened talks with former Nigerian striker Victor Anichebe over a possible move to the English Championship side.
Anichebe became a free agent after his contract with Chinese outfit Beijing Enterprises expired last year and is viewed by Bolton as a potential replacement for Gary Madine, who joined Cardiff City last month.
The 29-year old had previously played for Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland before his move to China.
He made his Super Eagles debut in 2008, scoring one goal in 11 appearances. He was a member of the Nigerian Olympic team that won silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics football event.
