Confederation of African Football (CAF) has disqualified Sierra Leone from 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers due to constant government interference in the running of affairs of the nation’s football federation.
The decision which was taken by CAF’s Executive Committee in Accra on Friday, was confirmed to the press yesterday.
FIFA had initially suspended Sierra Leone from all competitions after it was revealed that the nation’s government was inappropriately interfering with Sierra Leone’s football federation’s affairs.
This means that Group F leaders Kenya and Ghana are therefore qualified for the AFCON 2019 tournament.
