Veteran artiste, Zaaki Azzay, has advised young Nigerian acts to be original.

He described the Nigerian music industry as a war front and urged artists to learn to be original and stop copying.

See what he said: “I’m able to evolve like this because I’ve often said that Mercedes is Mercedes. Mercedes is Mercedes 40 years ago, it’s still the same today. It’s the same with music, you should improve on your brand, improve on your songs, you must not start sounding like another artiste because he is reigning. You can’t all be like Wizkid, Davido or P’Square, because they are on top now, just improve your brand. It’s like a war front, you have to retreat and plan; you don’t just go out, every day you set out, if you are a proper person, you will set out where you are going to, you have meetings, appointments, you have to strategize, things have changed.”
