The late Notorious BIG wasn’t lying when he said ‘more money, more problems’. Ever since the debut of her multi-platinum single, Bodak Yellow, Cardi B has been on the rise.
Shaft, Cardi B’s former manager is suing Cardi for $10 million, claiming that he was fired by the rapper despite being instrumental in her success.
Shaft filed a federal lawsuit against Cardi B on Thursday, stating that he was instrumental in elevating her from an Instagram star to the music star that she is today. He also claims that he helped produce Bodak Yellow.
In a statement, one of Shaft’s reps says: “Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image. While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which are detailed in the complaint. Shaft is confident that his lawsuit will validate his conduct and substantiate his legal claims.”
