Celine Dion’s heart remains with her late husband, René Angélil. The singer honoured her late husband on what was the third anniversary of his death and then paid tribute to him on what would’ve been his 77th birthday by dedicating a rendition of “You’re the Voice” to him.
“This is the greatest gift that I can offer him for his birthday,” Dion, 50, explained to the crowd at her Las Vegas residency. “What he loved the most in the world is the fans, the music and to see me perform for you.”
Dion asked the audience if they were “ready to sing for René” before launching into the song’s chorus. She ended the tune by blowing a kiss toward the heavens and saying, “Happy birthday, my love.”
Angélil died at the age of 73 in January 2016 after a long battle with throat cancer.
