For the first time, Chance the Rapper is dropping an album and putting it up for sale. Before now, he had only done mixtapes that were released for free on streaming services.
The Rapper recently had a reason to celebrate when his mixtapes hit streaming services. Now, he’s set to give fans something brand-spanking’ new in 2019 — his debut studio album
While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Chance revealed the album’s title, cover art and release date all in one swoop.
“People out there watching know I haven’t sold my projects before,” Chance explained. “All my mixtapes were free. This is my debut album, so there’s like a pre-order, and I told Jimmy to pre-order my album, and he was like, ‘If you say the release date on my show.’”
Fallon immediately pulled out his phone and hit chanceraps.com and pre-ordered the album, to which Chance gave up the July 26 release date for said LP titled The Big Day.
On Instagram, Chance shared an up-close look at the cover art blueprint, which appears to be a clear CD with diamonds encapsulated inside.
