Disney is reportedly eyeing Oscar award nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor to play the role of villainous uncle, Scar, who drove Simba with guilt following the death of Mufasa in the timeless movie, ‘The Lion King’.

According to reports, the actor who was nominated for his role in “12 years A Slave” is currently in talks with the studio to voice the character.

Chiwetel would be joining other casts like Donald Glover who would be voicing Simba; the young lion who would be king, and James Earl Jones would be voicing  his father, Mufasa just as he did in the 1994 original.

Others are Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner and John Oliver.

The live- action remake of the classic animation is currently being shot in Los Angeles by Jon Favreau, who also directed the live-action remake of “The Jungle Book”.
