Femi Fani-Kayode, FFK as popularly known, has been granted bail yesterday by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, presided over by Justice John Tsoho.
The former minister for aviation and former aide to president Goodluck Jonathan was re-arrested sometime on Friday October 21st, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for interrogations on his connection with the Dasukigate on-going suit.
He was accused of recieving N26Million from the former NSA, Sambo Dasuki and charged on a five count charge bordering on corruption, criminal breach of trust, and diversion of funds to which he pleaded ‘not guilty’ on all counts of the charge.
His bail was set at N50Million, with a surety in like sum. The surety must be resident in Abuja, and must have a landed property in Abuja.
The former minister is to submit his passport and other travel documents to the court.
The court ordered that the accused be remanded in the Kuje prison until he meets his bail conditions.
The former minister sees his prosecution as a means by which the government wants to silence him.
