Cristiano Ronaldo has solidly developed a penchant for breaking records each month, the latest being at the Club World Cup.
Ronaldo equalized for Real Madrid in the second half in their match against Al Jazira, which was his sixth goal in the competition, moving ahead of Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Cesar Hidalgo who are all tied on five goals.
It is the fourth time Ronaldo has competed in the tournament and his third time with Real Madrid of which he has scored six goals in seven matches with three assists in those games.
Real Madrid qualified for the final after beating Al-Jazira 2-1 and move to the final of which they have not lost any they participated in 17 years.
Cristiano Ronaldo will seek to improve on the record when they take on Brazilian side and Copa Sudamerica champions Gremio in the final in two days’ time.
