Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning overhead kick for Real Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final clash against his current team has been voted UEFA’s Goal of the Season for 2018.
The 33-year old scored a spectacular bicycle kick off a Dani Cavarjal assist in Turin to help Real Madrid to a 3-0 first leg win over Juventus.
He went on to help the Galacticos lift the Champions League for a third year in succession, landing him a fifth continental crown, while also finishing as the Champions League’s top scorer.
Ronaldo’s goal claimed almost 200,000 of the 346,915 votes cast on the official website of European football’s governing body.
He now becomes the third player to win the prize after Lionel Messi who has won it twice and Mario Mandzukic (2017) since UEFA introduced it in 2015.
