The Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative (CYFI) is calling for entries into its Global Inclusion Awards 2017.

This year, the fellowship is set to honour youths through its Outstanding Youth Economic Citizenship Award.

The Global Inclusion Awards is a CYFI initiative meant to recognize and honour people who achieve greatness and demonstrate innovation in financial, social and livelihoods education, financial inclusion and then also entrepreneurial support for children and youths at the national, regional and international level.

Solo_Logo The CYFI are accepting application to reward Access Bank children and youth customers between the ages of 8 to 20 years old who are currently running projects that teach/promotes financial literacy among other children and youths.

To win a Global Inclusion Award, the judges look out for the features of being in good standing, accountability, creativity, partnership, sustainability, track record, impact, outreach and cost-effectiveness.

More specifically on the Outstanding Youth Economic Citizenship Award, participants must be between the ages of 8 and 20 years old.

They must also fulfil the following criteria:

  • Projects should include a financial education and/or financial inclusion aspect.
  • Peer-to-peer formal and non-formal education activities/projects are highly preferred.
  •  Other children and youth should be involved in the entire process of creating and delivering the activity/project.
  •  The project demonstrates tangible results and achievements.
  •  The project has a follow-up component that encourages on-going engagement of the participants with the project.
  • They should have a functional Access Bank account.

Applications for the Outstanding Youth Economic Citizenship Award 2017 can be submitted from January 19 –February 20; finalists to the Global Inclusion Awards 2017 will be announced on the Awards website and in the CYFI March newsletter on March 16; while the winners will be announced at the next Global Inclusion Awards Ceremony, to be held on May 3 in Berlin, Germany.
