The producers of James Bond Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have confirmed Danny Boyle as the director of the upcoming James Bond movie.
They said in a statement: “We are delighted to announce that the exceptionally talented Danny Boyle will be directing Daniel Craig in his fifth outing as James Bond in the 25th installment of the franchise.
“We will begin shooting Bond 25 at Pinewood Studios in December with our partners at MGM and thrilled that Universal will be our international distributor.”
Although it is the first time that Boyle has been confirmed, he previously revealed that he was working on a treatment for a potential Bond film earlier this year.
“We’ve got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment,” Boyle said.
“It all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.” Daniel Craig will also return for the film, making him the longest-serving Bond in the long list of screen icons who have portrayed the role.
