Danny Boyle has confirmed that he is directing Daniel Craig’s final appearance in the James Bond film.

The Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting director said: “We’ve got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. It all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.”

The Oscar winner will take over from Skyfall and Spectre director Sam Mendes, with Daniel Craig playing 007 for what is expected to be the last time.

MGM and Eon Productions have yet to confirm Boyle’s confirmation, as it were, nor has Bond’s official Twitter account @007 posted about the news.

Filming is reported due to begin at the end of this year, with the next instalment in the series already given a November 8, 2019 release date.
