This was the Hashtag that broke the internet last week! – The wedding ceremonies – traditional and white – of Lala and Fregz.
Oh my God, I am shaking! Oh my!
Here’s the thing – Party Jollof is definitely not the only thing I look out for in weddings! I look at things such as the style and personality of the couple, the theme of the wedding, and the other elements that create the mood for guests at the wedding. Let me hear you say MOOD!
When I heard Lala was getting married, I knew the touch of excellence would be ghenghen. She is one who has an eye for details and likes to plan!
I have come to know that planning a wedding truly has a lot to do with how much you have, or how rich you are, or how influential your sponsors are. However, if your creative juices do not flow, all that money may just leave your guests wondering. I hear you say ‘Oh, Dara Puhleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.’ But you know I am saying the truth!
So, AsewereniseOluwa means God’s plans or works are so effortless.
I cannot NOT talk about that wedding. All of us who were not there still had some sort of Avant Garde experiential attendance, thanks to Instagram.
Apart from the surprise appearances of Adekunle Gold and Timi Dakolo, I was in awe of the couple’s minds. Let me explain this:
You can almost tell people’s mindsets by the kinds of things they do. I don’t know Fregz up close, but Lala, I know and have observed for ten years! You cannot box this duo! They went beyond what we would normally expect.
Engagement on Sunday and wedding on Thursday evening. Wow!
From the wedding, you can see that she is the Contemporary-traditional kind of lady. Did you see that Cupid Shuffle dance she did with her friends? Her love for Adekunle Gold’s tunes could not be missed in the way she danced with Fregz.
They definitely have an eye for details. Theirs was a destination wedding right here in Lagos; Fantastic and top-notch décor and vendors who did the very best.
Lala is genuine. She is either your very good friend or not and so as expected, she had real people around her. People whose lives she has been and still is a part of, and she was definitely a happy bride. Talk about genuineness… Oh, Lala you make me dream about my wedding!
Please note: Dream weddings do not have to break the bank! Yes there was aso-ebi at Lala’s wedding, but as seen in all the pictures, it was not a do-or-die affair. It was more about just-come- and- have –fun kind of thing.
Yes, people definitely slayed, but maybe, with no hassles. Your wedding can still be dope without you fighting your friends because they did not buy your aso-ebi. Won’t you prefer gifts?
The selection of songs on the dance floor and all through the wedding for me was filled with memories from Primary school, Secondary School and even University. No wonder Funke Bucknor danced like back in the day! Who remembers Nel Oliver’s Baby girl song? Lala danced with her dad to this song. Very classic!
To me sha, this couple is wealthy. Don’t give me side eye, I don’t have their account details or know their account balances. But, check out their social circle; from Chude Jideonwo to Debola Lagos; Aunty Joke Silva, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde to Funke Bucknor, Adesua Etomi, Ireti Doyle, etc. So they did not just stop in their fields. They have established solid relationships in other very relevant sectors. I would not be surprised that in the nearest future, Lala’s sneeze makes everyone catch cold in the Industry. She sure knows how to build her circle.
Talking about being deliberate about things, I have watched Lala lead thousands of people since she was much younger and a student in the University of Lagos. She has had a lot of breakthroughs and still acts as though she is just starting. If you never knew Lala, you could get to know a very substantial portion of her personality by her wedding. The wedding pictures made me laugh, gave me chills, made me think and gave me hope, all at the same time.
I wish Lala and Fregz a happy married life; one that is filled with bigger breakthroughs and many more exemplary narratives. Click the link below to see more pictures
