Davido’s music has recently been garnering all the buzz in America and he has been slowing climbing the charts with his 2017 hit, ‘Fall’. On his press run, he visited one of America’s most popular radio station New York’s Hot 97’s Ebro in the morning show.

During the 30 minutes plus interview Davido discussed his family, his recent involvement in politics, the rise of Afrobeats and the Alte movement and his rising success in America.

When asked about the ‘Afrobeats’ and ‘Afrobeat’ genre confusion, Davido clarified, ”The originator of Afrobeat is Fela… However, when African music was getting big in the UK, they needed a name for it, so they called it Afrobeats but if you ask me the original Afrobeat is Fela.

Davido also had something to say on his next album, ”I am working on the album now, just wrapping up the features.”
