American singer and Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles has deleted her Twitter account after lashing out in a series of tweets.
The activist tweeted, crying out for the release of a 22-year-old student at North Carolina Central University, Takiyah Thompson, who was arrested for helping to take down a Confederate monument in Durham, N.C and was charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors related to property damage and disorderly conduct.
Her last tweet read, “deleting my twitter soon, but before I dip, when we gonna pull up? & what we got to do to get my new hero Takiyah Thompson free?”
However, she took to Instagram to give a hint on why she deleted her Twitter account.
Apparently from what she wrote, she’s fed up of the whole white supremacist and other things that make the system seem it’s against blacks.

Solange has also been vocal, especially about social issues and racism in her music.
Her most recent album, ‘A Seat at the Table’, was praised for its reflections on black womanhood in modern America.
