WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has apologised for his actions after he was told that he might have injured a mascot when he punched it on a US television.
It is believed that the American had broken the mascot’s jaw when he floored the mascot on Spanish language sports show Nacion ESPN.

However, it was later revealed that no injury was caused.
In a statement off his instagram handle, he said:
“Anything headlining I didn’t know a human being was in there is just straight click-baiting. I sincerely apologise to the brave man that was injured if this is true. I have the utmost respect for him, his participation, willingness and courage.
“If this injured mascot is true, I personally would like to invite him to my 1 December fight.”
The show was to promote his upcoming fight against Tyson Fury on the 1st of December this year.
