I know we begged for rainy season. but ah ah take it easy now. It’s as if God got tired of our complaining  and just said “Shebi you people asked for it, oya take”. Chai but this rain is not even playing with us at all, when it comes, it comes heavy, like the rain I experienced this morning, which made me super late to work.  Well to be honest, I was late because I had to watch the final episode of Game of Thrones before going to work, and no I couldn’t wait to watch it later in the evening at home.

You see ehn, the first thing we do every Monday morning in my office is discuss the latest Game of Thrones episode that comes out on Sunday night, like we legit have a proper serious discussion, as if we are having an important work meeting. So you see, I cannot afford to go to the office on Monday morning without watching GOT, because I might be able to avoid the spoilers on Twitter, but I certainly cannot avoid the spoilers at work.

Okay so Game Of Thrones was the reason why I could not leave my house before the rain started, and honestly I thank God for that, because I was planning on taking the bus to work, and If I had taken the bus, I would have been caught in the middle of that rain, and I would have been drenched, that would have been the beginning of a terrible day for me. So when the rain had subsided, I ordered a Taxify and I got caught in the middle of that Landmark/Oniru Traffic.

Please who else faced that awful traffic? At some point we were at a standstill, nobody was moving again, that’s when I started to think about telling the driver to end the ride, and taking keke to work because I could imagine the money I was going to pay at the end of the ride, and let’s be honest, I’m BROKE (I put it in capital letter so you’ll understand that my level of ‘brokeness’ at the moment is very high) and broke people are never at peace when their taxify gets caught in traffic.  But I decided not to enter the keke because it would be too much stress and it looked like the bloody rain was about to start again.

Anyway, I got to the office at 11 am,( ELEVEN AM!! Who am I? Even the MD’s daughter won’t come that late) and I walked in when the team meeting was holding (not the GOT meeting LOL, the actual team meeting) and I was already thinking of the lie I was going to tell my boss for coming late but fortunately, it didn’t get to that (maybe everyone was pardoned for coming late due to the rain). At the meeting, I was told well done for the contribution I made at work and my head swelled for a bit and blah blah blah…

The rest of my day was pretty much bland, nothing interesting happened, just normal work stuff.  Meanwhile, I’ve been trying to summon up the courage to talk to my boss about my new idea (fear is my biggest flaw) and hopefully this week, I’ll be able to finally walk up to his desk and talk to him about it. I’ll let y’all know how that goes.

So that’s basically it, till next time-Diary of a Lagos Millennial
